OBJECTIVES

 Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Incorporate tips on safety, methodology and efficiency into their surgical practices.

  • Review pathophysiology of disease states of the hair follicle and learn what is new in the understanding and treatment of these conditions.

  • Review diagnosis and treatment strategies for contact dermatitis and understand appropriate allergens for patch testing.

  • Review pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of Stevens-Johnson and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis.

  • Understand the proposed etiologic factors and pathogenesis of squamous cell carcinoma and the various treatment modalities for squamous cell carcinoma.

  • Review and recognize signs and symptoms of parasitosis in travelers and effectively treat the cutaneous side effects associated with epidermal growth factor inhibitors.

  • Understand the latest techniques and modalities available using laser and light sources.

  • Review the STEP screening tool designed to enhance the probability of a positive and successful outcome from a cosmetic procedure intervention.

  • Understand the clinical applicability of the various fillers and review the risks and benefits associated to each.

  • Review pathogenesis of acne and compliance requirements of the iPledge Program.

  • Summarize the latest findings in psoriasis research and treatments.

  •  Review the latest research findings in atopic dermatitis and incorporate new treatment approaches into their practice.

  • Review and refine their skills in dermatopathology via an interactive symposium.

  • Understand the latest research findings, trends and treatment strategies in MSRA infections.

  • Understand the latest information on the pathogenesis of rosacea, and be able to incorporate this information and new treatments into their practice.

  • Understand and be able to incorporate new immune therapies into their practice.

  • Formulate a differential diagnosis for nail disease and develop a clinically useful strategy toward treatment of these conditions.
